WAKE FOREST - Police are requesting the public's help in capturing a man responsible for robbing the Wake Forest Pizza Hut on Capital Boulevard at gunpoint Friday night.

About 11:45 p.m., a black man of large build entered the restaurant wielding a dark semiautomatic handgun and demanding money, according to a release from Wake Forest police. An employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled the restaurant on foot, the release said.

Police describe the robber as 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing 250 to 260 pounds. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black short-sleeved shirt, a dark ball cap and a black cloth garment over a portion of his face. He also is described as having big, bulging eyes, the release said.

Police officials are also interested in questioning a second man who entered the restaurant just minutes before the robbery. Police describe that person as a black man of slender build in his mid-20s, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 to 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve shirt and a blue ball cap.

Police officials say Friday night's incident may be related to a string of Pizza Hut robberies that have occurred throughout the area in recent weeks.

Police ask anyone in the vicinity of the Wake Forest Pizza Hut on Friday between 11:30 p.m. and midnight with information on this incident to contact the Wake Forest Police Department at 554-6162 or 556-9111.
