ARTS FESTIVAL

Sacred Arts Festival, a community celebration of the arts, will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. at Church of the Nativity, 8849 Ray Road.

The event will have live music by "Barrowburn," food sales to benefit the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, a cookie competition and demonstrations throughout the day.

RUN BENEFITS DIABETES PROGRAM

The 3rd Annual St. Timothy's Spring Sprint5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run to beneift the WakeMed Pediatric Diabetes Program will be held Saturday.

The 1-mile course begins at 9 a.m. and costs $15, and the 5K is at 9:30 a.m. and costs $20 if you register ahead of time or $25 on race day.

Each course begins at the parking lot at St. Timothy's School parking lot, 4523 Six Forks Road, and is run through the North Hills neighborhood. Printable entry forms available at www.sttimothys.org.

Walk up registration is available race morning.

BUY STUFF, HELP PEOPLE

North Raleigh Ministries at 2431-152 Spring Forest Road (corner of Spring Forest and Atlantic Ave behind Goodberrys) is celebrating its Thrift Shoppe's Grand Re-Opening.

The store was enlarged to twice its space.

The grand sale is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and all proceeds help those in crisis who live in zip codes 27609, 27612, 27613, 27614, 27615, and 27616.

Many specials and discounts will be featured on Saturday.

Items for sale include toys, household items, luggage, furniture and more.
