FALL FESTIVAL
The Whitaker Mill Senior Center invites the public to its Fall Festival.
The event, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, will feature food and games and entertainment from the center's line dancers. A craft bazaar will showcase work from the center's seniors such as paintings, pottery, baked goods and plants.
The proceeds will benefit the senior center at 401 E. Whitaker Mill Road.

ART SHOW
Sertoma Arts Center presents 'Our Backyard,' images of the Triangle featuring works by photographer Jennifer Weinberg of Cary and oil painter Jennifer Hutchins of Morrisville.
The show includes works depicting area lakes and streams. They will be on display in the Raleigh Room Gallery through Tuesday.

PIPE ORGAN RESTORED
St. Timothy's Episcopal Church/School on Six Forks Road in Raleigh has just had its handmade pipe organ fully restored and is hosting a free concert for the public at 4 p.m. Sunday. The organ was purchased for $20,000 in 1974 from the Noack Organ Co. Its value is now $200,000. The 'Rejoicing Concert' will celebrate the unique sound of the instrument. JUNIOR TENNIS CLASSIC
The Raleigh Racquet Club will host the USTA-sponsored 27th Annual Raleigh Junior Tennis Classic from Saturday through Monday. More than 400 junior boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 18 will participate.
Local players from Broughton, Cary Academy, Millbrook and Ravenscroft will be there. Many of these players are considered to be among the highest-ranked tennis players in the Southeast for their age level.

The Raleigh Parks and Recreation's Teen Program will present the Third Annual Battle of the Bands on Sept. 29 at Laurel Hills Community Center. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.; music begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. Cover charge: $5.
The event will showcase bands from Wake County. The bands will play original music and be comprised of high school students.

WALK-A-THON
The Raleigh chapter of The Links Inc. will hold a walk-a-thon and health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The event will begin at the First Baptist Church Life Center, 101 S. Wilmington St. and will benefit the Kidney Foundation of North Carolina.
