No. 1 Mount Olive advances in regional

Ryan Schlecht improved to 13-0 with a four-hitter to lead nationally top-ranked Mount Olive to a 6-2 victory over North Georgia in the second round of the NCAA Division II Baseball South Atlantic Regional Friday at Mount Olive.

The win advanced top-seeded Mount Olive to the winner's bracket final today at 11 a.m.

WAKE FOREST 2, BOSTON COLLEGE 0: Senior Charlie Mellies turned in his second consecutive complete game to lead visiting Wake Forest (24-28, 13-15) past Boston College (25-27, 8-21).

VIRGINIA TECH 8, DUKE 5: Sean O'Brien homered to lead host Virginia Tech (23-31, 6-23 ACC) over Duke (36-18-1, 9-18-1).

CAMPBELL 10-1, LIPSCOMB 5-6: Campbell (20-35, 13-20 A-Sun) split a doubleheader with visiting Lipscomb (28-27, 19-14) to secure a spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament.

EAST CAROLINA 17, MEMPHIS 3: The visiting Pirates (39-16, 13-10 C-USA) had 19 hits.
